Vanessa has been a Councillor since 2004. She was voted deputy Mayor in 2008 and is now currently Lismore Mayor. She is a delegate on Rous Water and Chair on Council’s Environment Committee. Vanessa is a qualified science teacher and land-carer and wants to see habitat corridors through-out rural and urban Lismore. Thanks to Vanessa, Council’s road focus has expanded to include funding for footpaths and cycle ways. Over the last 12 years Vanessa has been a strong voice in Council for sustainable development. Her long term engagement and extensive knowledge of Council’s procedures and projects will provide continuity and stability for our new Council. She is a sound leader, as demonstrated by her initiation of council’s successful Biodiversity Strategy and lobbying the state government for Lismore’s Pacific Highway signage. Vanessa is committed to leading a team of progressive Councillors to protect hard won gains in our community culture and environment.
Adam has lived in Lismore for 18 years and studied Politics, Law and Teaching at SCU before working at Trinity Catholic College. Adam was a Lock the Gate Regional Coordinator in the Gasfield Free campaign and has worked for Greens MP Jeremy Buckingham. Adam was the Greens candidate for Lismore in the 2015 State Election which nearly saw the Greens win the seat. Adam wants to continue council’s plans for 100% renewable energy and building a healthy community.
